This course aims to present some perspectives on the study of Brazilian Culture. After a historical and social overview, it will focus on aspects of Brazilian behavior, rituals, feasts, popular culture and arts, from 20th century until nowadays. Aspects of ethnicity, miscegenation, identity, religion, cultural diversity and hybridism will be addressed (with no expectations of exhaustion). Students will be demanded to present seminars, engage in round tables, review bibliographic data and explore videos, sites, movies and other visual and literary expressions.
