English Theatre Lab is an elective, theory-and-practice-based course offered to students from different semesters of the Theatre program. It focuses on the study of the vocal, physical, textual, and cultural specificities of acting in a foreign language. The course involves practices such as improvisation, dramatic reading, character building, and scene work in English, fostering discussion about the linguistic, cultural, and performative challenges of acting in a second language. By the end of the course, students will be able to reflect on acting in English, having developed linguistic, vocal, expressive, and interpretive competencies applied to the theatrical context.
