This course explores the history of Africa and its historical connections with Brazil, examining political, economic, social, and cultural issues. Topics include African kingdoms, peoples, and societies; interactions among Africans, Europeans, and Americans; slavery and colonialism; and the multicultural aspects of Brazilian society.
